Green Linda Marie Plume Agate Necklace | Suspended Gemstone Pendant | Pearls and Gemstone Beads | One of a Kind | Handmade Sterling Silver
A forest floor, caught in stone.
This long, graceful Linda Marie plume agate is pointed at both ends and hangs north to south, like a feather falling in slow motion. Deep greens drift through the stone alongside soft white and dark browns that deepen almost to black, and the plumes look like moss, mist and shadow under the trees.
I made a cradle for it by hand. Small tubes are soldered around the bottom half of the stone, and the sterling silver chain is threaded through them, so the agate hangs from the chain itself, cradled in place without a bail. Along the chain I added pearls and gemstone beads at random, each placed by eye, so the necklace has a loose, collected, found-along-the-way feel. Nothing is cast and nothing is premade. Because the stone is unique and the beads are placed freely, this necklace is truly one of a kind, and once it is gone, there is no other like it.
It is easy to wear every day and special enough for a holiday table. The earthy greens and browns look lovely with cream knits, denim and winter neutrals. It also makes a gift that feels personal, for someone who loves the woods, natural stone, and jewelry with a handmade, organic feel.
The Process
Each piece begins as raw metal — silver, brass, gold — shaped slowly by hand, sawn into delicate botanical lines that echo late summer's last bloom and autumn's first crisp edge. Real leaves, ferns, and hydrangeas are pressed directly into the metal, leaving behind the exact impression of something that once grew wild. Gemstones catch the same seasonal hues — floral pinks, mossy greens, the deep amber of turning leaves — set one at a time, each piece entirely its own. Made to be worn close, lived in, and carried through every season that shaped it.
